no title#5 by Baran
Let me tell you right away it was not my fault. Yes, that is true, I was there all the time, but it was not my fault. I was an observer, nothing more, please don’t tell me that I had enough power to stop it, you should know better, I did not. You know how her look paralyzes one, you know damn well how it arrests you…or do you? It leaves you standing there with close to nothing, unable to even say a word…but I have to make a confession, I knew it even before entering the room. I had seen it in her eyes, in each and every movement of hers from days before, but you know…well…I believed her. She told me everything will be alright, that we’re going to be even happier after this, so I believed her, I was hoping the time will wash it away from her body…yes I was wrong, it only grew bigger and bigger, yeah I know I was wrong like many times before, no you don’t need to tell me that this was important, let me tell you, I could not do anything to prevent it…you know I don’t remember when it all started, she told me it was not long ago, she said I won’t remember then, I was afraid but she was so beautiful and she told me it was ok , that it was not my fault that I didn’t remember…Ah her eyes; the blue seemed to be more grayish at those moments, even though I should tell that during the past few days they were full of fire, with a greenish hue…Oh yeah the days before that she tried to avoid looking into my eyes, she had kind of a hesitance, once I even tried to ask her but she just told me:” it’s ok honey, don’t you worry! It will all be ok really soon.” And even then she didn’t look me straight into the eyes. I am telling you, I could see it even in her steps, the way she moved her hip…Now wait a minute! Are you judging me? You better not! I am telling you, you better not...she never judged me, she always told me she loved me the way I was and once she even told me that she loved me more than ever because of what I had given her and then she looked down at her tummy and smiled…Her suffering was so glorious that I was astounded…Ah those screams. Loud, very loud, oh you should have heard them for yourself, as if with each one a part of her flew away and she got tinier with each scream… You remember, don’t you? She was a tiny girl, fragile sort of…oh her wrists, like a baby’s, so small, so delicate, I used to hold her wrists in my hands to see my red fingerprints on her white skin, no, no I didn’t press too hard, just a little, a tiny bit…But you know maybe you can help me, help me to understand it, my head was still banging with her last scream, I could not see anymore, she was not there, the room was turning around me, it was full of shadows, I felt weak and tired, everything was blurry, and then they gave me this wrap of white towel, I held it, something was moving very slowly inside it, so I moved the towel a bit and I saw a reddish skin, yes skin, and then just at that moment all the banging stopped. Silence took over for a few minutes, I was not afraid anymore, now don’t give me that look, even then I know that I should be sad, but I was not horrified anymore, it was as if I was covered with a big warm white towel myself…after a few seconds this vague sound broke the silence, It was from within the white towel I can tell, yeah probably it was from there, it was something .
between joy and sorrow, a weak cry, but it was beautiful, it felt familiar, yet I don’t remember where or when I had heard it before…you know that …that well my memory is not working well, that’s what they kept telling her, I think I saw her eyes once after they told her this , her wet blue eyes, and then she turned and smiled at me, she said:” no accident can take you from me.” Oh yes I remember it very well…Ah but that sound., I am telling you from that moment on whenever I hear that sound I have the same cozy feeling, and in those moments I can be confident that there was nothing I could do to prevent it. You see, I told you, it was not my fault, was it? Maybe if she was here she would have told you that it was not my fault…was it?!
[This could be beginning of a film, maybe about a psychoanalyst, maybe the story of this man’s life, maybe the story of the girl’s life, maybe the story of the baby’s…I don’t know. But if it is a film, you’ll see the film’s title right after the man stops talking.]

"HIGH hopes" by Leili
Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young
In a world of magnets and miracles
Our troughts strayed constandly and without boundary
The ringing of the division bell had begin
Along the long road and on down the causeway
Do they still meet there by the cut
There was a ragged band that followed in our footsteps
Running before time took our dreams away
Leaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the ground
To a life consumed by slow decay
The grass was greener
The light was brighter
With friends surrounded
The night of wonder
Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind us
To a glimpse of how green it was on the other side
Steps taken forwards but sleepwalking back again
Dragged by the force of some inner tide
At a higher altitude with flag unfuried
We reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world
Eneumbered forever by desire and ambition
Theres a hunger still unsatisfied
Our weary eyes still stray to the horizon
Though down this road weve been so many time
The grass was greener
The light was brighter
The taste was sweeter
The nights of wonder
With friends surrounded
The dawn mist glowing
The water flowing
The endless river
Forever and ever

" اگر تحريم شويم" by Niloofar

"Short pieces" by Pezhman
It has always been a part of me, like my shadow, but closer. It is inside me, underneath my skin, somewhere between flesh and bone.
Neither does it hurt, nor is it useful; small numb piece of me, just big enough to be noticed.
I want to throw it away. It is not useful, why should I keep it? I’ve made my mind; I want to get rid of it. That was an easy decision.
I already miss it.
Inside Out
Contemplating, searching and laboring, I learn something about my personality. Just after that moment, I realize my friends have known that for quite a while.
OK!
I say “you are perfectionist.”
She says “I wish I were.”
Even her definition of perfectionism is too perfect.

"جايزه نوبل ادبيات" by Niloofar

"Grandpa's House" by Sara
You are employed by a local planning authority to advise on the routing of a new freeway. Two alternative routes have already been proposed and your task is to evaluate them and recommend one route. Both have advantages and disadvantages from environmental, social and economic perspectives. On balance, however, you believe that Route A has slightly more benefits than Route B, though you concede it is extremely difficult to determine these accurately.
As you are drafting the report containing your recommendations, you realize to your horror that Route A will result in the demolition of your grandparents’ house. In the event that the freeway is built on this route, the government will compensate residents’ affected by any losses incurred, but you know that your grandfather will be deeply shocked by the loss of the house. He has a weak heart and may well not survive the news.
As you consider the implications of this decision, you reflect that the difference between Route A and Route B is minimal and you could with some justification present Route B as the more favorable option. What do you do?
I have my professional credit and respect at stake.
Planning Authority has its reputation and contract at stake.
My colleagues in Planning Authority have their own professional reputation at stake.
Local citizens who pay tax to build this freeway and will use it in the future have their privilege at stake.
Government has its budget & trust & plan at stake.
My grandparents have their house at stake.
Other citizens who live in both routes have their houses at stake.
My Obligation to …
Myself? Is trying to choose the best route regarding to professional and moral rules.
Planning Authority? Is to evaluate and recommend a route just based on professional principles, to be honest as an employee and to do my job as accurate as possible.
My colleagues? Is to protect their corporational and professional identity and reputation.
Local citizens? Is to choose a route which is the best for them regarding to financial matters, City planning, Traffic & etc.
Government? Is to do recommend the most appropriate route and to be a true consultant.
My grandparents? Is to care about them and their emotions and possessions. To be a good person and citizen as their grand daughter.
Other citizens who live in both routes? Is to choose a route impartially.
Values at stake
Professional trust
Vocational credibility
Family relations
Citizenship principles
Ethical Principles
Be honest with your employer.
Do your job just based on professional regulations and codes of ethics.
Never let your personal benefits to interfere a professional judgment.
Protect your family and do your best for them.
Be a true citizen.
Approaches
Ends-Based:
I do not want to kill my grandpa. I choose route B.
I do not want to ruin my reputation. I choose route A.
Rules-Based:
I do what is the best for my family.
I do what is the best for this city and its citizens.
Care-Based:
I want to protect my employee and other citizens.
I want to protect my grandparents.
Tests
Colleague Test
If they find out that I chose my grandpa over my professional obligations, they will judge me as dishonest, inept and untrustworthy.
Mother Test
My mother will be very upset if something happen to my grandpa and I would be somehow responsible for his death. She may tell me to choose grandpa’s house.
•Which route will you choose ? and why ?

a peom by Baran

johnny ignited the engine as the leash tightened around his neck. good morning america, courtesy of uncle sam and sons. it's a beautiful day, just like every other day. weather is alive. inhale. johnny sips on his stainless steel coffee mug, eyeballing the first page on wall-street journal. reverse. brakes. drive. the flamboyant blonde neighbor salutes johnny in her denim jumper suit. mountains in the horizon, mist in the air, green grass odor. america roars highway 73, marching ahead. park. atm. deposit. fast cash. sip. ignite, reverse, drive. progress on sanctions. cell phone. hi dad. poker night for him, mom's gone for the night, 19th, of course. park. stare. why? why here? click, beep. sip. johnny glides up the stairs, smiling. cubicle. johnny's now engaged, struggle, survival, senseless. why?

"over the edge" by Neda
It was thanksgiving long weekend, we all had pretty nice weekends. So did he, he visited his friends on Sunday and had a nice supper. Then he went to this park, apparently very beautiful and hilly, some parts have cliffs that are hundreds of feet high. He decided to take pictures with his digital camera.
Tuesday morning, I got a phone call from my friend Dan giving me the news that he has passed away. He had a hiking accident in Europe.
Cops went to his apartment in Canada, his friend Ken is still living there, he never changed his address on his driver's license even though he hasn't lived there for 9 months. They told Ken that he had a hiking accident and they found him Monday morning, he was taking pictures and he must have leaned forward too much or something and he fell off a cliff about 100 feet down.
We are all in shock, his life was good, he had just started a great job he loved, in a new country with some old friends. Things were going well. Why did it have to end so early? Why did it have to happen to him?
I have many questions, but I don't have any answers and I can't stop crying.

"Parallels Between Destructive Cults and Controlling Families" by Pezhman
1. Manipulations of Feelings
- Cults give members approval alternating with appeals to fear and guilt
- Leaders ridicule members’ emotions that conflict with cult goals while rewarding members’ emotions that support cult goals
2. Manipulations of Behavior
- Behavior is rigidly proscribed through control of sleep, diet, privacy, dress, access to information, activities, and relationships
- Sensory overload (chanting, singing, meditation, lectures, speaking in tongues and/or testimonials) dulls members’ senses
- Cults encourage members to call on one another
- Cults stress compliance to cult rules and rituals that, no matter how mundane or odd, must be followed to the letter
- Questions are shamed or avoided and the focus turned on the questioner
3. Manipulations of Thinking
- Cults profess freedom and openness but foster dependence, restricted information, and lack of intellectual rigor
- Cult credo and needs supersede individual needs or desires
- Black-and-white, all-or-nothing thinking pervades
- Cult credo generally cannot be explained or disproved and is said to be fully understood only by a select few
4. Manipulations of Relationships
- Cult provides “instant intimacy” at the price of insisting that members reveal innermost thoughts, feelings, and habits
- Relationship with outsiders are discouraged by fostering an “Us vs. Them” mentality
- Members forfeit financial, social and emotional resources and give cult leaders the right to make personal decisions for them
- Leaders are seen as possessing unique goodness and lacking faults or insecurities
- Leaders are accorded special rights, privileges and living conditions
- Leaders demand that members follow grandiose schemes as a test of loyalty
5. Manipulations of Identity and Sense of Self
- Happiness is seen as flowing from the group and leader while unhappiness is seen as flowing from within members
- Actions that distance members from the cult bring pain while actions that move members closer to the cult bring pleasure
- Leaders act as sole judge of worth, truth and behavior, with the right to punish and reward

"Bookseller of Kabul" by ShekarKhand
The book is by a Norwegian female reported who stayed in Afghanistan during the US-Afghanistan war and got to know a bookseller and his family in Kabul. She tells the story of the bookseller, his two wives and his extended family.
There were some facts in the book that was very strange to me. So strange that I am not sure I should believe it or not (the author claims that everything in the book has actually happened; she is only narrating the thought and feelings of people involved in the events.)
Math books at the time of Taliban sounded like the following: (I am quoting directly from the book):
1- Sadegh has one Kalashnikov and 10 bullets. He kills 3 atheists, each with one bullet. How many bullets is left for him?
2- Two brothers killed their sister following their mother's order. The newly-wed sister had slept with a guy (supposedly her secrete boy friend) while she was waiting for her husband, whom she has never met, to come back from Europe and take her with him.
I am still half way through the book, so I am not sure what is coming next.
"Nobel peace prize" by ShekarKhand
I think most of you have about Mohammad Yunus the winner of the Nobel peace prize.
if you haven't please check out his work!
I was very impressed with his work and his prove of the concept that poor people are bankable.
“This is possibly the first instance of a Nobel Peace prize going to a person who runs an organisation that makes profit”

WHAT YOU PAWN I WILL REDEEM

What's in a day?
[The following appeared on a full page of the Rocky Mountain News on Saturday, October 8, 1994.]
An Open Letter From the AMERICAN INDIAN MOVEMENT of Colorado and Our Allies
When the Taino Indians saved Christopher Columbus from certain death on the fateful morning of October 12, 1492, a glorious opportunity presented itself for the cultures of both Europe and the Americas to flourish.
What occurred was neither glorious nor heroic. Just as Columbus could not, and did not, "discover" a hemisphere already inhabited by nearly 100 million people, his arrival cannot, and will not, be recognized by indigenous peoples as a heroic and festive event.
>From a Native perspective, Columbus' arrival was a disaster from the beginning. Although his own diaries reveal that he was greeted by the Tainos with the most generous hospitality he had ever known, he immediately began the enslavement and slaughter of the Indian peoples of the Caribbean.
Defenders of Columbus and his holiday argue that critics unfairly judge Columbus, a 15th Century product, by the moral and legal standards of the late 20th century. Such a defense implies that there were no legal or moral constraints on actions such as Columbus' in 1492. In reality, European legal and moral principles acknowledged the natural rights of Indians and prohibited their slaughter or unjust wars against them.
The issue of Columbus and Columbus Day is not easily resolvable by dismissing Columbus, the man. Columbus Day is a perpetuation of racist assumptions that the Americas were a wasteland cluttered with dark skin savages awaiting the blessings of European "civilization." Throughout this hemisphere, educational systems and the popular media perpetuate the myth that indigenous peoples have contributed nothing to the world, and, consequently, we should be grateful for our colonization, our dispossession, and our microwave ovens.
The racist Columbus legacy enables every country in this hemisphere, including the United States, to continue its destruction of Indian peoples, from the jungles of Brazil to the highlands of Guatemala, from the Chaco of Paraguay to the Western Shoshone Nation in Nevada. Indian people remain in a perpetual state of danger from the system begun by Columbus in 1492. The Columbus legacy throughout the Americas keeps Indian people at the bottom of every socio-economic indicator. We are under continuing physical, legal and political attack, and are afforded the least access to political and legal remedies. Nevertheless we continue to resist and we refuse to surrender our spirituality, to assimilate, or to disappear into Hollywood's romantic sunset.
To dignify Columbus and his legacy with parades, holidays and other celebrations is repugnant. As the original peoples of this land, we cannot, and we will not, tolerate social and political festivities that celebrate our genocide. We are committed to the active, open, and public rejection of disrespect and racism in its various forms--including Columbus Day and Columbus Day parades.
For the past five years the American Indian Movement of Colorado and our allies have been compelled to confront and resist the continuing Columbus legacy in the streets of Denver. For every hour spent organizing non-violent opposition to the Columbus parade, we have lost an hour that we were not able to use in assisting indigenous treaty rights struggles, land recovery strategies, and the advancement of indigenous self-determination.
However, one positive benefit of our efforts was the public debate over Columbus Day that has spread into the public schools as an educational tool for students and their teachers. Overall, we view the demise of the Columbus Day Parade in Denver as a welcome opportunity to move beyond the divisive symbolism of the past.
We therefore suggest the replacement of Columbus Day with a celebration that is more inclusive and that more accurately reflects the cultural and racial richness of the Americas. We also suggest that the community support a more honest portrayal of social evolution in this hemisphere and a greater respect for all people on the margins of the dominating society. There is no more appropriate place for this transformation to occur than in Colorado, the birthplace of the Columbus Day holiday.

Song Lyrics: Pocahontas
Though the river's proud and strong
He will choose the smoothest course
That's why rivers live so long
They're steady
As the steady beating drum
You can't step in the same river twice
The water's always changing, always flowing
But people, I guess, can't live like that
We all must pay a price
To be safe, we lose our chance of ever knowing
What's around the riverbend
Waiting just around the riverbend...

"First Wish" by Pezhman
Alex always thought how great his life would be if his past were different. As a kid he was under spell of his abusing father all the time. Granny’s bedtime stories are the only good memories he has of that time. A year after granny’s death, he was only 8 years old when he and his mother ran away from home. His mother was working hard at a local factory and the pay-off was barely enough to live on. It took a while he got used to a normal quiet life. He was happy then, however children at school sometimes ridiculed his worn-out clothes. He was happy, however he was yearning for the bicycle he never had and he was happy, however unlike his classmates he had to help his mother after school. All in all, he was happy. He was a good student. Alex never upset anybody. One of his teachers found him an afternoon job at a bookstore that he could work less and study more. Years passed and he was 17 when he fell for the girl who was shopping at the bookstore once in a while. Alex never got courage to say something to her. Her name was Sabina, he found that one time she came with her mother. He wrote a letter to give her next time, but that was too late, she never came to the shop after that. He still keeps thinking about her. Alex finished college and got a job in a big city. Early twenties went smoothly.
Alex is trying to recall all good and bad memories. The list is endless but he wants not to miss anything. What could he change from the past? Anything? What are the top three? He goes through his list over and over again; thinking, imagining, dreaming and checking every single wish many times.
The sun set into the horizon and the Old Man is now standing in front of him. Alex hesitates for a moment. He looks at his list, then keeps his head up and smiles at the Old Man. It is a strange feeling, he has never been this happy. He asks only for one wish: “I wish I could have another day?”

"from a BOAT (6)" by Jackal
I think I have finally found a corner of my own here, deep in the privacy of my cabin. The hour is close to midnight but it feels like an unearthly time. The sea is calm, like a sleeping baby; there’s just the occasional tossing and turning or little splashes on the side of the boat. The constant humming of the engine is becoming a part of me. It does give a sense of continuity but hell it is still annoying. Looking outside, it’s hard to find a direction without the blinding flash of all the lights. Even the sea surface is bright white. I tried to go outside the living quarters to sit down for a moment and… flipping safety regulations don’t allow me to light up a frigging fag. So I come back here to switch all lights off and stare into nowhere. A few minutes before I was looking at the subsea camera screens; just to see some little fish flapping around, looking so shiny and white under the projectors that I couldn’t even tell their color. Too much light doesn’t even let the poor fish rest in peace, nor does it let me. But I suppose they are luckier than I am. They will have the dark, still, and comforting bottom of the sea for the rest of the year. Would it not be cool if I was a little fish? No, on a second thought, perhaps rather a big fish. Something worth catching. God I wish I was close to you in the dark…

"Holy Shit" by Bahar
I eat because I need energy, I sleep, otherwise I will pass out, and I run 24/7 because I made a choice, and I am sticking with it!
Every day has a been surprise, a shock and a learning experience. Sometimes a pad on the back, but most times a slap in the face!
I am sorry that I missed Jackal's birthday and your beautiful essays every day. I miss shopping, cooking, cleaning the apartment and I miss visiting my parents.
But now, at this point, it is all about endurance. I hear that you are a winner if you don't give up and I am not a quitter.
You have no idea. It has been hard and I am holding on to dear life with my teeth and bloody nails.
Holy Shit! It has been one tough ride!

"Lady Chatterley's Lover" by D.H. Lawrence
He took her in his arms again and drew her to him, and suddenly she became small in his arms, small and nestling. It was gone, the resistance was gone, and she began to melt in a marvelous peace. And as she melted small and wonderful in his arms, she became infinitely desirable to him, all his blood-vessels seemed to scald with intense yet tender desire, for her, for her softness, for the penetrating beauty of her in his arms, passing into his blood. And softly, with that marvelous swoon-like caress of his hand in pure soft desire, softly he stroked the silky slope of her loins, down, down between her soft warm buttocks, coming nearer and nearer to the very quick of her. And she felt him like a flame of desire, yet tender, and she felt herself melting in the flame. She let herself go. She felt his penis risen against her with silent amazing force and assertion and she let herself go to him She yielded with a quiver that was like death, she went all open to him. And oh, if he were not tender to her now, how cruel, for she was all open to him and helpless!
She quivered again at the potent inexorable entry inside her, so strange and terrible. It might come with the thrust of a sword in her softly-opened body, and that would be death. She clung in a sudden anguish of terror. But it came with a strange slow thrust of peace, the dark thrust of peace and a ponderous, primordial tenderness, such as made the world in the beginning. And her terror subsided in her breast, her breast dared to be gone in peace, she held nothing. She dared to let go everything, all herself and be gone in the flood.
And it seemed she was like the sea, nothing but dark waves rising and heaving, heaving with a great swell, so that slowly her whole darkness was in motion, and she was Ocean rolling its dark, dumb mass. Oh, and far down inside her the deeps parted and rolled asunder, in long, fair-travelling billows, and ever, at the quick of her, the depths parted and rolled asunder, from the centre of soft plunging, as the plunger went deeper and deeper, touching lower, and she was deeper and deeper and deeper disclosed, the heavier the billows of her rolled away to some shore, uncovering her, and closer and closer plunged the palpable unknown, and further and further rolled the waves of herself away from herself leaving her, till suddenly, in a soft, shuddering convulsion, the quick of all her plasm was touched, she knew herself touched, the consummation was upon her, and she was gone. She was gone, she was not, and she was born: a woman ...

"He came to save the earth, he got ..." by Pezhman
Widox has done all his bests. He has even spoken the same language that normal people use, though it doesn't express little bit of his idiosyncrasy. He has drunk whatever others drink, though it doesn't allay his thirst. He has eaten what earthly creators eat, of course those haven't nurtured him.
Widox has got depression. He hasn't changed the world a bit in 40 years. Mission has failed. People say Widox has got midlife crisis.

"خوبی های این ماه" by Niloofar
"!می دانم " by Meysam

"Me, You, and Everyone" by Jackal
Apart from the usual philosophical motives (philosophy is about asking questions after all), the discovery of the remains of a human hobbit in a remote Indonesian island last year, was very intriguing.
The question is “Me, You, and Everybody else”. Allow me to explain a bit. When I think of an average human, the first thing that comes to my mind is ME; or perhaps someone like me without a face. A general "idea" of ME. However, this does not proper like a precise definition. For everybody is different from another person and if everyone thought of himself as a representation or an "idea" of an average human being, there would be a different definition from everyone's perspective. So comes the question of how one should define a human being? and along are many more; how to categorize the question? is it, for example, a matter of zoology, or anthropology, or perhaps even psychology?
Let’s go back to that "idea" of me, it's not so simple you know. I assumed that is associated with one's level of intelligence and sense of self-consciousness. What puzzled me was whether the strength or weakness of these senses could affect one's degree of humanity. In other words, could I define a man by measuring his degree of self-consciousness and draw the line somewhere?! If that is the case, there is a possibility that certain anomalies could be the grounds for disqualification and a person may suddenly cease to be a "person". A very common example is BRAIN DEATH. At this day and age, that's where we draw the line, though other organs could be functioning.
As I said this was just an example and I have a broader notion here. I wanted to figure out when I come across an unknown animal, should I hunt it or invite him for the afternoon tea? Homo-sapiens is a much studied animal, but what makes this animal a human? perhaps I should test him first and gauge his intelligence and social skills with that of my own and then either bestow upon him the crown of humanity or sell it to a Chinese restaurant? Well of course, I'm talking about the 'hobbit' of the Indonesian jungles!
There are still more issues in this regard. A very controversial one is cloning. I'm sure you know all about it and could have asked the same question, what if at some point in the future humans were cloned? How would we rate them? And again, hypothetically speaking, if one came across an alien entity?! Scientists believe that the probability of the existence of some form of life in the whole world beyond us, is fairly high; close to 100%.
I suppose, if we go back and consider the most important and primal capabilities in the wide spectrum of all species, it makes one wonder how similar the humans are to other animals and even aliens from different aspects. From the chemicals and vital systems of the physiology, and all the way to sociological characteristics, self-consciousness and intelligence. And not very surprisingly, humans don't always take up the top place in the list. I concede that perhaps there is no real border to separate my realm as a modern man, from that hobbit of 30 thousand years ago. Evolution often works in mysterious ways.

"سفر" by Niloofar

"آيين مدرن بشريت " by Niloofar
For you it's called ethnic cleansing. But make no mistake, it is the first genocide of the 21st Century and if it continues unchecked, it will not be the last.In many ways it is unfair, but it is nonetheless true that this genocide will be on your watch How you deal with it is your legacy, It's your Rwanda - your Cambodia - your Auschwitz. We are one 'yes' away from ending it.
You are the last political recourse of Darfur victims and you can stop it,
After September 30 you won't need the UN. You will simply need men with shovels and bleached white linen and headstones.
You are the last political recourse of Darfur victims and you can stop it.
We were brought up to believe that the U.N. was formed to ensure that the Holocaust could never happen again. We believe in you so strongly. We need you so badly. If not the UN, then who?

"Gnosis" by Anonymous
I get off the train in a small station, somewhere in Holland, and walk to the taxi rank. It seems that I have to wait as the last one just disappeared.
I turned back to her to see her tears rolling down her face. She's looking at me, in a way as if she can't see me. I tilt my head to see the red bite marks on my arm and she bends to rest her head on my chest.
There it is; the taxi driver has a long white moustache and shaved head; speaks English with a strong Dutch accent. I'm looking out the window, a mild breeze brushing my face, and can hear the driver mentioning something about the war.
Her hands were running around my waist trying to find a way up my t-shirt. I'm somewhere between not letting her do that and making way for her advancing fingers. I lose myself and close my eyes.
Perhaps there's something not quite right with the address. The address was sent to me from a triple forwarded message that had arrived in my absence. We are struggling and the dusk partial darkness isn't really helping. The driver is moaning, in Dutch.
I asked the hired car driver to pull over near a rundown little brick-walled building in the middle of the road. Not a single soul could be seen around. I practically dragged her through the door frame inside, half-eyeing the driver walking away trying to shake off his legs. It turned out to be a prayer-room with dusty and worn out carpets. We didn't care and knelt down in front of each other on both knees while our lips hastily, dangerously, approached.
The message reads, "Find me at 17, Fredric van Edenlaan, Delft". We pass through it for the second time. It's strange, there's no number 17 here. I pay the driver and get off the taxi. I go on foot with a faint hope of magically finding the place.
I told her that we ought to make haste and get back to the car. The sun had gone down and the driver was waiting. She was tentative a bit. We got to her place at last and she went inside. I followed hesitantly. I saw her strip and slip into the shower. I blindly copied her.
I think it's about 3 hours that I'm walking from one dark street to another. I see the lights of a free house. Inside, I can't see anyone except for the old barman. He get's me my drink and walks off. I taste it. Locally brewed?! I light up a cigarette and gaze outside.
She dried herself and refused the mug of tea that I had just made for her. Quite lazily crawled to the bedroom and crept up the bed, rolled up the sheets, bent her body posture and as the duvet fell down, she disappeared from the rest of the world.

"نقد داستان چرا توقف کنم" by Niloofar

"داچا" by Sara
"I quit my job today" by Pezhman
I hated my cubicle life, staring at monitor 9 to 7 everyday. I need flexible working hours. It killed my social skills. I’d like to go around, do different things and meet other people. Imagining myself ten years down the road was scaring. I quit.
My colleagues were too nice, too polite, too considerate. That was not even funny! Conservative, short sight, perfectionist, detail-oriented, isolated, anxious and tensed dead-mind human doings! So frightened of life that they should keep themselves busy all the time. Anything, whatever, that kills the time. Idleness tortures them. Never again, will I have business lunch with co-workers who solve problems on paper cover of the table!
Years working like that softened my sharp corners. It was enough. I quit.
I had promised myself to quit my job, if only one more time we get together with friends and somebody says, “If I were reborn, I would live differently.” And it happened last night.

"باد" by Sara
